Upward Facing Dog Pose in a Flowing PracticeWe typically consider postural alignment in the asana practice by looking at somewhat static poses rather than how we move in and out of asanas in dynamic ways. This is one reason many flowing practices tend to be very weak on alignment, which increases the risk of injury and confusion while inhibiting the deepening of the practice.

In this two-day, 12-hour workshop, we’ll look closely at transitions into and out of poses as well as the fundamental alignment principles, risks and contraindications, energetic actions, modifications, and variations for each of the constituent postures found in dynamic sequences. Detailed breakdown of classical sun salutations, surya namaskara A & B, dancing warrior variations, lasya vinyasa, and sirsasana II arm balance vinyasas.
